Trailer camera

Postby Royalfalls » Sat Nov 21, 2009 12:43 pm

Anyone have a wireless trailer camera set-up?

We are looking into getting one, but not sure which models are good.

What type do you have? Anything you like/dislike about it. Is color worthwhile?

We definitely want to stick with wireless for simplicity...had a wired one in the old trailer and it was a pain in the rear to hook up.

Thanks!

I have one in the horse bay of our horse truck and also a reversing camera.

Both hard wired.

I tend to think that black & white is fine. No point in colour. The only thing is, is do you drive them in the night often? I found that not having night vision was a pain in the butt.

I find the camera's invaluable. Honestly, it gives me piece of mind that on long trips I can see my horses, and that they are all right. I can see them also the instant that something goes wrong.

Ive never looked up a wireless camera, so I can't give you any advice on best types/models etc.

My sister and I both have the same wireless cam for our trailers. You can easily snap it on your tailgate for trailer hookup, as well.

Mine is color and has the night vision....and of course, sitting here now I can't for the life of me remember the brand. It's yellow!!

Very handy little device and I really like being able to check what is going on in there!

My sister bought hers from the trailer dealer when she bought the trailer and I bought mine from an ebay store. I am thinking it was about $250 (??)
